Meet the Executive Director

Josie Heilmann serves as the Executive Director of Addington Place of Fairfield, bringing nearly five years of senior living experience and a strong healthcare background to her leadership role. She began her journey at Addington Place as the Director of Sales, giving her a deep understanding of the resident and family experience and the importance of clear communication during times of transition.

 

Josie earned an Associate of Arts degree with an emphasis in Business and Healthcare from Indian Hills Community College, along with a Diploma in Practical Nursing. She has spent the majority of her career as a patient-facing healthcare professional, including work in blood centers and regional laboratories as a phlebotomist, account manager, and lab assistant, as well as serving as an LPN on a medical-surgical unit. This clinical foundation shapes her hands-on, compassionate approach to leadership.

 

What sets Josie apart is her unique ability to lead with empathy, approachability, and accountability, while truly understanding the clinical, emotional, and practical needs of residents and their families. Her long-standing presence within the community, combined with her healthcare experience and strong relationships with staff and referral partners, made her a natural and trusted choice for the Executive Director role.

 

Outside of work, Josie enjoys starting home projects with her husband, weight lifting and fitness, reading, volunteering as the Medical Outreach Manager for the Down Syndrome Diagnosis Network, and spending quality time with her children.
